Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Debuts In Malaysia, Priced From RM2.25 Million

The first fully open-top luxury model brings two-seat roadster performance, handcrafted detailing and open-air luxury to Malaysian shores.

Mercedes-Maybach takes its interpretation of open-air luxury into new territory with the arrival of the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series in Malaysia. The first fully open-top model in Maybach history combines the sporting character of the SL with the marque’s signature emphasis on craftsmanship, comfort and exclusivity.

Priced from RM2.25 million for Peninsular Malaysia, the two-seat roadster is designed around individuality as much as performance. Its Malaysian arrival also coincides with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur 2026, where the model makes a statement at the intersection of automotive design and contemporary fashion.

“Mercedes-Maybach represents the highest expression of luxury within our brand portfolio,” says Martin Schulz, CEO & President of Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia and Head of Region, Mercedes-Benz Cars Southeast Asia. “With the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series, we are offering our customers a distinctive expression of this philosophy, bringing together our heritage of craftsmanship with a modern interpretation of luxury.”

A Maybach Reimagines the SL

The SL 680 retains the proportions and sporting character of the SL while introducing a distinctly Maybach visual identity. In the Red Ambience specification, obsidian black metallic contrasts with MANUFAKTUR garnet red metallic, while the bonnet is finished in obsidian black and marked with the Maybach pattern in graphite grey.

The intricate bonnet treatment reflects the craftsmanship behind the car. Its surface is sanded by hand before the Maybach pattern is applied, followed by multiple stages of lacquering and hand-finishing.

Elsewhere, the illuminated chrome-finished radiator grille, rose-gold headlight accents, upright Mercedes star and chrome bonnet fin reinforce the roadster’s distinctive presence. Twenty-one-inch forged wheels complete the exterior.

A White Ambience configuration is also available, pairing obsidian black metallic with MANUFAKTUR opalite white magno for a contrasting interpretation of the model.

Crafted for Open-Air Indulgence

Inside, crystal-white MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather covers the seats, doors and centre console, with a new floral pattern defining the seat upholstery. Silver chrome trim and galvanised seat backs add contrast, while a crystal-white MANUFAKTUR MICROCUT roof liner completes the cabin.

The emphasis on comfort continues with AIRSCARF, which directs warm air around the neck and nape, alongside the ENERGIZING Package Plus, incorporating seat climate control, ambient lighting, multi-contour seats and massage functions. A Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system and head-up display further enhance the experience.

Power comes from a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 producing 585 hp, paired with a nine-speed 9G TRONIC automatic transmission. Rear-axle steering and ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension help balance agility with the smooth, composed character expected of a Maybach.

Mercedes-Maybach

At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kuala Lumpur 2026, the SL 680 Monogram Series extends that philosophy beyond the road. Its appearance reflects a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, design and individual expression — offering a distinctly Maybach interpretation of what an open-top grand tourer can be.
