The Repulse Bay Motoring Classics: Hong Kong’s New Gathering For Car Fans

Celebrating automotive heritage with 26 classic cars and a garden party celebrating motoring heritage and luxury culture.

Hong Kong’s motoring calendar gains a new addition this November with the debut of The Repulse Bay Motoring Classics, a gathering that brings together classic automobiles, luxury hospitality and fine watchmaking.

Taking place on 7 November at The Repulse Bay Arcade, the event draws on the heritage of The Peninsula’s international motoring gatherings, bringing the concept to Hong Kong in a garden-party setting. The emphasis is on the enduring appeal of the automobile, from historic models that capture the early years of motoring to more recent classics that have earned their place among collectors.

Classic Motors

At the centre of the showcase is a collection of 26 cars spanning three eras: Pre-War Oldtimers from the 1920s to 1940s, Golden Vintage models from the 1950s and 1960s, and Modern Classics from the 1970s to 1990s. The line-up offers a cross-section of automotive design and engineering, reflecting the changing tastes, technologies and ambitions that have shaped the industry over several decades.

Among the highlights is the Hong Kong debut of the Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II, an all-electric super coupé that brings the marque’s established design language into a new era. Aston Martin, Bentley and Porsche will also present notable automobiles. Porsche’s display will pair classic 911s with the Team Jebsen 911 GT3 Cup Car, connecting the model’s long-running road-car legacy with its motorsport credentials.

Wheels And Watches

The gathering extends beyond the cars themselves. A garden-party format brings together dining establishments from The Repulse Bay Arcade, with food and drinks served alongside live entertainment and a panel discussion. Rather than a conventional motor show, the event positions the automobiles within a broader lifestyle setting, where design, collecting and shared interests are as much a part of the experience as the vehicles on display.

Watchmaking adds another dimension to the programme, with A. Lange & Söhne and Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo presenting selected timepieces. The pairing reflects the longstanding affinity between fine watches and classic cars, both valued for their mechanical ingenuity, attention to detail and ability to embody a particular moment in design history.

Ticket holders will also have the chance to win trips to two international motoring gatherings: The Quail by The Peninsula in Carmel, California, in 2027, and BOSOSAI by The Magarigawa Club in Japan.

The Repulse Bay Motoring Classics takes place on Saturday, 7 November, from 2pm to 6.30pm at The Repulse Bay Arcade, 109 Repulse Bay Road, Hong Kong.
