Ray-Ban Meta And Oakley Meta AI Glasses Arrive In Malaysia

The smart glasses make their Malaysian debut, bringing AI-powered functionality to everyday eyewear.

Smart glasses have long promised to make technology more intuitive, but convincing consumers to wear them has proved challenging. Now, with Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta officially available in Malaysia from 20 October 2026, AI-powered eyewear is making another case for becoming part of everyday life.

Developed through a partnership between EssilorLuxottica and Meta, the collections integrate cameras, microphones, audio capabilities and AI assistance into familiar eyewear designs. The idea is to make everyday interactions, from capturing photographs to taking calls, possible without reaching for a smartphone.

The Malaysian launch also introduces Malay-language support for Meta AI, making voice-based interactions more accessible to local users.

Style Meets Function

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) comes in Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena designs, incorporating a 3K Ultra HD camera, six-microphone array and up to nine hours of battery life. Prescription-friendly options are also available through the Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics (Gen 2) collections.

Oakley Meta, meanwhile, takes a more performance-focused approach. Its HSTN and Vanguard models are designed for active lifestyles, combining hands-free recording and audio connectivity with Oakley’s sports-oriented design.

Prices start at RM2,119 for Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) and RM2,209 for Ray-Ban Meta Optics (Gen 2), while Oakley Meta HSTN and Vanguard begin at RM2,069 and RM2,589 respectively.

The collections are available through selected Ray-Ban, Oakley and EssilorLuxottica retail partners nationwide. A Ray-Ban Meta pop-up at The Starhill Piazza runs from 21 October to 1 November. Oakley will showcase its AI eyewear at the Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang from 30 October to 1 November.

Whether AI glasses will become an everyday essential remains uncertain. For now, their arrival signals a growing effort to integrate personal technology into the accessories people already wear.
