Apple pushes the limits of the Apple Watch with each new generation it creates and this one is no exception. Previously outlined in an article in September, here are some of the key features of the Apple Watch Series 8 once again:
Temperature sensing and advanced Cycle Tracking
With an innovative two-sensor design, Apple Watch Series 8 is able to track your temperature while you sleep so you can see changes from your baseline. Cycle Tracking uses this data to provide a retrospective estimate of when you likely ovulated, which can be helpful for family planning.
Crash Detection
Apple Watch Series 8 uses a new high-g accelerometer and improved gyroscope, plus the barometer, microphone, and GPS to detect severe car crashes and automatically connect you to emergency services.
Advanced workouts
With watchOS 9, Apple Watch Series 8 makes training a more powerful experience with more advanced metrics and new ways to visualize them with new Workout Views.
Redesigned Compass app
The completely redesigned Compass app surfaces more in-depth information, new zoomable views for directions and orienteering, and the ability to add customizable Compass Waypoints to mark your position or a point of interest and retrace your steps with Backtrack if you get lost or disoriented.
International roaming
To stay connected while traveling abroad, you can extend your iPhone roaming plan to Apple Watch for little or no additional fee.
Extended battery life
With Low Power Mode, you can extend all-day battery life to up to 36 hours of normal use, maintaining features like Activity tracking and Fall Detection while disabling others like the Always-On display.
The Apple Watch SE added features and updates are:
New cases
Available in Midnight, Silver, and Starlight with new matching back cases. The back cases are redesigned with a new production process that reduces its carbon footprint by over 80%.
Faster performance
Apple Watch SE has the S8 System in Package dual-core processor, so it’s up to 20% faster than the first-generation SE.10
Crash Detection
Apple Watch SE uses a new high-g accelerometer and improved gyroscope, plus the barometer, microphone, and GPS to detect severe car crashes and automatically connect you to emergency services.
Advanced workouts
With watchOS 9, Apple Watch SE makes training a more powerful experience with more advanced metrics and new ways to visualize them with new Workout Views.
Sleep Stages
Sleep tracking is even more powerful and can provide deeper insights into your sleep with Sleep Stages. You can see a summary of your sleep, including stages data, in the Sleep app on Apple Watch.
Medications
Once you have medications set up in the Health app, the new Medications app on Apple Watch makes it easy to receive reminders and log your scheduled and as- needed medications. And you can add rich complications to your watch face to see your medication schedule at a glance.
International Roaming
For cellular connectivity while abroad, you can extend your iPhone roaming plan to your Apple Watch for little or no additional fee.
On top of all these key features for the New Generation Apple Watch, from a design perspective Apple has collaborated with Hermès to come up with bold new band styles and a playful watch face. The partnership with Nike sees refreshed bands with great new colors, plus all Nike watch faces are now available to more models of the Apple Watch.
The New Generation Apple Watch is now available to order with prices starting from RM1,899 for the Apple Watch Series 8 and RM1,199 for the Apple Watch SE.
