How are we already nearing the end of 2026? Before we know it, Halloween will give way to Deepavali, followed by Christmas, New Year’s and, soon after, Chinese New Year.
The celebrations seem almost endless, each bringing its own traditions, rituals and reasons to gather. Just in time for this festive stretch, Royal Selangor unveils its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, the second of its two major annual releases. Reinterpreting cultural motifs through contemporary pewtersmithing, the collection remains rooted in the heritage of the Kuala Lumpur-founded company, established in 1885.
Cranes, Zodiac Symbols and Auspicious Beginnings

At the heart of the collection is Crane, a series inspired by the Red-Crowned Crane, a symbol of longevity, fidelity and wisdom. Its graceful form appears across decorative objects accented with delicate 24K gilding. From vases and bowls to finely carved plaques, the series culminates in a striking centrepiece depicting two birds poised atop a globe of clouds. Their fluid forms reflect the crane’s enduring symbolism, while echoing Royal Selangor’s own philosophy of exploring new horizons without losing sight of its roots.
Three further lines usher in the Lunar New Year, each offering its own interpretation of prosperity, good fortune and joy. Zodiac III distils auspicious iconography into miniature keepsakes for gifting, while Year of the Goat celebrates the zodiac animal through intricate motifs and 24K gilding. Completing the trio, Benevolence II features mythical guardians by sculptor Xu Xiao Yong, rendered in pewter as symbols of strength and protection.
From Pet Accessories to Artful Home Objects

Making its debut in the pet accessories category, Pawse brings a playful sensibility to everyday essentials for four-legged companions. Drawing on South African textiles and Malaysian batik, Kuala Lumpur-based South African sculptor Ferdi B Dick lends his distinctive touch to dog and cat bowls, figurines, pet charms and tags, as well as black stainless-steel flasks topped with sculptural animal lids. Their open mouths and protruding tongues reference the artist’s signature Lion’s Breath, inspired by the yoga practice associated with releasing tension and finding calm.
The Joy collection, created in collaboration with New York-based Malaysian artist Eng Tay, translates his signature bronze sculptures into pewter, capturing the nuances of human connection. From solitary figures and musicians to tender moments between parent and child, each piece conveys a distinct emotional quality.

Also drawing on artistic heritage is Telepuk, which takes inspiration from the intricate woodblock motifs of a traditional Malay textile art once used to adorn royal cloth with gold leaf. Developed in collaboration with the V&A Museum, the collection translates these historic patterns into contemporary objects for the home, keeping the artistry of a fading craft in view.
Where Heritage Meets Contemporary Fandom

Royal Selangor’s collaborations also extend into popular culture, with Disney Formula 1 Fuel the Magic, Disney Formula 1 BE@RBRICK, Marvel’s Doctor Doom and Harry Potter. Bringing familiar characters and cultural touchstones into pewter, these collections introduce the material and its craftsmanship to audiences beyond traditional collectors.
Speaking at the launch at The Hanging Gardens, Conlay by E&O, managing director Dato’ Yong Yoon Li drew a parallel between the collection’s central motif and the company’s own journey.

“We are a bit like the crane. We roam far and wide to see what the world has to offer, but we always come home…to roost, to reflect and to reconnect with our roots. Like a needle holding the thread, our craftspeople bring everything together, preserving the fabric of our heritage for future generations. They allow us to explore new possibilities while remaining true to what we believe in and what is close to our hearts.”
