Bentley is now applying the same philosophy to coachbuilding with the introduction of the Bespoke Series by Mulliner, an annual programme of limited-edition motor cars that places design, craftsmanship and exclusivity at the heart of each release.
Conceived by Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke and coachbuilding division, the inaugural collection is limited to just 100 examples of the Continental GT S Coupé and Continental GT S Convertible. Rather than simply introducing new paint finishes, the series presents a carefully considered design narrative, where colour, materiality and handcrafted detailing come together as a cohesive expression of contemporary luxury.
The approach reflects a broader shift within the automotive world, where personalisation has become as significant as performance. Instead of one-off commissions, the Bespoke Series offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire a factory-curated specification that balances exclusivity with design intent.
A Seasonal Collection Inspired by Design
Each Bespoke Series begins in Bentley’s Design Studio, where designers study emerging movements across fashion, architecture, interiors and culture to forecast future directions in colour and materiality. Those creative concepts are then realised by Mulliner’s artisans at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, where traditional craftsmanship meets modern manufacturing techniques.
The debut collection also coincides with the opening of Bentley’s expanded Design Studio and newly commissioned Paint Shop, making colour the defining theme of this first release.
Owners can choose from six newly developed finishes, each paired with matching interior accents and bespoke detailing. The palette ranges from the deep sophistication of Salerno Blue, Midnight Prism Pearlescent and Spectral Verdant to the lighter Snow Quartz, alongside the more expressive Manuka Orange and Bright Ruby Red.
Each specification is further distinguished by a hand-painted Beluga and pearl-effect centre stripe that runs the length of the car, complemented by gloss black exterior detailing and black-painted 22-inch sports wheels.
Mulliner Craftsmanship in Every Detail
Inside, the attention to detail continues with Mulliner’s signature three-tone upholstery, combining Jet Black and Beluga hides with colour-matched accents that echo the chosen exterior finish. The bespoke treatment extends across the embroidered Bentley emblems, steering wheel marker, gear selector and seat detailing, while dual-finish veneers introduce painted surfaces separated by fine dark chrome pinstripes.
Elsewhere, features including the Bentley Rotating Display, mood lighting, dark-tinted chrome trim and Comfort Seats form part of the comprehensive specification.
Exclusive touches reinforce the collection’s limited nature. Individual numbering appears on the fascia and treadplates, ‘By Mulliner’ seat tags distinguish the interior, while the centre console incorporates a subtle colour swatch displaying all six Bespoke Series finishes. Even the ownership experience has been considered, with every vehicle accompanied by a fitted bespoke car cover tailored specifically to the selected model.
By framing the collection as an annual release rather than a conventional special edition, Bentley signals a new direction for Mulliner — one that treats the motor car as a seasonal design object shaped by craftsmanship, creativity and cultural relevance.
