Since it was acquired by LVMH in 2017, German premium luggage-makear Rimowa has unveiled several high-profile collaborations with brands like Dior, Off-White, Supreme and Fendi, as well as personalities like artist Daniel Arsham. Now, it unveils its latest joint effort with fellow LVMH stablemate, American jeweller Tiffany & Co.
The new collection comprises three designs: A cabin suitcase, a vanity case for jewellery, and a personal case designed for storing jewellery instead of the usual cards and coins. Crafted in Rimowa’s signature grooved aluminium, the first two are decorated with a finish called Rock Cut, which is executed in Germany. Comprising alternating brushed and shiny surfaces, the tactile finish features angular facets that are reminiscent of a precious stone — a nod, obviously, to Tiffany & Co.

Unsurprisingly, the jewellery house’s popular hue, Tiffany Blue, also takes centre stage here. In the Rimowa x Tiffany & Co. Rock Cut Cabin suitcase, the colour has been used for the handles, luggage tags and wheels, as well as interior features such as straps and leather details.

Similarly, the Rock Cut design and Tiffany Blue characterise the collection’s new vanity case, the Rimowa x Tiffany & Co. Jewelry Case. In the early to mid-1990s, such top-handle cases were a popular choice for carrying makeup. Today, Rimowa is bringing it back, but has redesigned it for storing jewellery. Opening it from the top, users will first find a mirror with a silver plaque underneath, which can be engraved.
The case itself comprises three levels: At the top is a sealed tray for rings and other jewellery. The middle tray has leather loops for holding necklaces and bracelets in place. At the bottom, the final tray has three large spaces for — one presumes — similarly large pieces.

Last but not least in the collection is the Rimowa x Tiffany & Co. Jewelry Personal. While the popular Personal polycarbonate case typically takes the form of a cross-body bag, with multiple compliments for storing items such as credit cards, this one has been reimagined as a compact jewellery case. Fully rendered in Tiffany Blue, the Jewelry Personal has six compartments for toting around your favourite precious pieces — during travel, or anytime you fancy, really.
