Beneath the ocean’s surface, a world of infinite wonder awaits. Tiffany & Co. introduces Blue Book 2023: Out of the Blue, which is the latest expression of Tiffany’s esteemed high jewelry collection that celebrates the legacy of Jean Schlumberger. The world of aquatic-inspired pieces of jewelry features extraordinary designs, paying homage to the late artist’s fascination with the sea’s fantastical creatures.

As one of the most gifted artists of all time, Jean Schlumberger is renowned for his fantastical creations. He ushered in an unprecedented chapter of jewelry design and began his legendary collaboration with Tiffany in 1956. With his nature of innovation, Schlumberger created some of Tiffany’s most iconic designs. The celebrated pieces include his Bird on a Rock brooch, intricate paillonné enamel bangles, the Cooper bracelet, and the Sixteen Stone diamond ring.

As the first Blue Book collection designed by Nathalie Verdeille, Tiffany & Co.’s Chief Artistic Officer of Jewelry and High Jewelry well-crafted each masterpiece in perpetuating enigmatic symbols of the sea with geometric and stylized aesthetics.

Giving a new life to some of his most renowned designs. The creations by Nathalie have a distinct Schlumberger quality and personality with various themes embodying aquatic life.

The summer collection will launch with seven distinct themes: Shell, Coral, Jellyfish, Pisces, Starfish, Sea Star, and Star Urchin.

Shell theme explores the three-dimensionality of objects sculpted by the ocean. One of the most versatile designs within Shell is a transformable pendant. The piece features a detachable diamond brooch that reveals a stunning black opal of over 21 carats. Ethereal and luminescent, a striking brooch from the Jellyfish theme echoes the graceful movement of a jellyfish’s tentacles.

An exquisite craft refers to the Star Urchin theme that studies symmetry and form. Embodying the drama of the ocean, these designs are characterized by tanzanites and hand-carved chalcedony which emulate the sea urchin’s spiky exterior.

In addition, exuberant hues on an array of designs showcasing tanzanites, sapphires, and yellow diamonds defined the Coral theme. The Pisces theme is a study of the sea. It is a representation of an unknown, infinite world that offers warm hues to complement the cool blues of the ocean.

An iconic silhouette of the ocean. The Starfish theme reimagines the familiar creature as if tangled between rocks. It is a diamond-intensive suite that offers a unique expression of this sea creature.

Moreover, the Sea Star theme features a field of custom-cut mother-of-pearl starfish entwined in coral-inspired motifs. This theme is providing a snapshot of the sea’s fascinating ecosystem.
