For years, Malaysian fashion enthusiasts have travelled abroad to shop Acne Studios in cities such as Paris, London, Tokyo and Seoul. Now, the Swedish fashion house has officially arrived in Kuala Lumpur, opening its first Malaysian boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
Located in Bukit Bintang’s luxury retail precinct, the opening marks another milestone in Acne Studios’ expansion across Southeast Asia while strengthening Pavilion’s position as one of the region’s leading luxury shopping destinations.
A Space Defined By Material And Form
Rather than following a conventional luxury retail formula, the boutique reflects Acne Studios’ longstanding fascination with architecture, materiality and contemporary design.
Created by Creative Director Jonny Johansson in collaboration with Swedish architecture practice Halleroed, the store continues a global retail concept that has become synonymous with the brand. Here, the defining material is pink granite—a signature Acne Studios hue—which extends across the façade, flooring and sculptural stone pillars to create an environment that feels at once monolithic and unexpectedly warm.
The interior balances these architectural elements with softer forms. Furniture by British designer Max Lamb introduces gently undulating seating that contrasts with geometric stainless-steel fixtures, while lighting by French designer Benoît Lalloz enhances the natural depth and texture of the granite throughout the space.
The result is a boutique that feels less like a traditional fashion store and more like a contemporary design gallery—an environment where architecture, furniture and fashion exist in conversation.
Bringing The Full Acne Studios Experience To Malaysia
The Pavilion boutique will carry the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2026 collections across menswear, womenswear, footwear and accessories, including the Camero bag, one of Acne Studios’ newest signature designs.
