Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur has unveiled its culinary vision ahead of its anticipated 2026 opening, announcing landmark collaborations with internationally renowned chefs Garima Arora and Jean‑Georges Vongerichten.
The luxury property, part of Hilton’s premium portfolio, will introduce several dining concepts designed to position the hotel among the region’s leading gastronomic destinations. According to Candice D’Cruz, Vice President of Luxury Brands, Asia Pacific at Hilton, gastronomy continues to play an increasingly important role in luxury travel.
“Delivering unforgettable moments that delight our guests is at the heart of the Waldorf Astoria ethos,” she said, noting that collaborations with leading chefs help connect global culinary expertise with the cultural identity of Kuala Lumpur.
Garima Arora’s Modern Indian Concept

Chef Garima Arora will introduce Yaari, a contemporary Indian restaurant inspired by the diversity of India’s regional cuisine. Arora is the chef-owner of Restaurant Gaa, the two-Michelin-starred Bangkok restaurant known for its progressive interpretation of Indian flavours. In 2018, she became the first Indian female chef to lead a Michelin-starred restaurant.
At Yaari — which means “friendship” in Hindi — Arora will reinterpret classic Indian dishes using traditional techniques and modern culinary perspectives. The menu will explore flavours from across the country, from coastal curries of southern India to smoky northern kebabs, alongside refined versions of beloved street-food staples such as chaats.
Desserts will draw inspiration from traditional mithai sweets, presented with a contemporary approach to flavour and texture.
Three Concepts By Jean-Georges Vongerichten

Celebrated French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will debut three signature venues within the hotel: JG KL, abc kitchens KL and The Bar by JG. Vongerichten, whose flagship restaurant Jean‑Georges holds two Michelin stars, is known for combining classic French technique with vibrant Asian influences developed during his decades-long global career.
JG KL will present a refined dining experience blending French, American and Asian flavours with a focus on seasonal ingredients and precise technique.

Meanwhile, abc kitchens KL draws inspiration from Vongerichten’s well-known abc restaurant group concept, combining the farm-to-table philosophy of abc kitchen, the plant-forward creativity of abcV and the Latin influences of abc cocina in a relaxed yet sophisticated setting.
Completing the trio, The Bar by JG will offer a lively social space serving shareable small plates and a curated drinks programme reflecting the chef’s approach to balance, freshness and bold flavours.
KL’s New Culinary Destination

For Etienne Dalançon, General Manager of Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, the partnerships with the chefs represent an important step in establishing the hotel as a leading culinary address in Southeast Asia.
“Culinary innovation and excellence have always been central to the Waldorf Astoria experience,” he said. “These collaborations reflect our ambition to create a world-class destination that connects guests and locals with the spirit of Kuala Lumpur.”
Additional dining venues will be announced in the lead-up to the hotel’s opening in late 2026.
