In 2026, the Maison extends that story with Orphéon Eau de Toilette — a new variation imagined by perfumer Natalie Cetto — accompanied by fragrance gestures and decorative objects that expand the world of this Parisian legend.
The original Orphéon Eau de Parfum, composed by Olivier Pescheux in 2021, captured the woody, intimate atmosphere of the jazz bar that once stood beside Diptyque’s boutique at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain. It was an olfactory portrait of polished wood, tobacco haze and late-night conversations. This new Eau de Toilette shifts the perspective.
The Moment Before Nightfall
If the Eau de Parfum evoked the depth of midnight, the Eau de Toilette turns to dusk — that fleeting hour when the lamps flicker on and anticipation fills the room. Musicians tune their instruments. Glassware catches the light. The first ripple of laughter cuts through the air.
In the 1960s, Orphéon was more than a jazz club. It was a gathering place for artists, intellectuals and bohemian spirits, and a refuge for Diptyque’s founders — Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Gautrot and Yves Coueslant — whose creative dialogue would eventually shape the Maison itself.
The new composition reflects that early-evening effervescence. Citrus notes of green tangerine and Japanese yuzu open with clarity and lift. A prismatic heart of juniper berries, pink peppercorn and ginger introduces vibrancy before softening into rose and magnolia. Beneath it all, cedar and musk anchor the fragrance in a subtle, steady warmth. The result feels luminous rather than smoky — animated, but balanced.

The bottle features an illustration by long-time collaborator Gianpaolo Pagni, inspired by archival furnishing fabrics created by the founders.
