Right Angle Studio’s latest project, The Rasidence, exemplifies this philosophy, transforming a 1,750-square-foot duplex apartment in Singapore into a sophisticated canvas where the past, present, and future converge seamlessly.

Following the acclaim of its earlier project, Residence L, the award-winning studio continues its evolution, deepening its narrative-driven approach to design. With a practice rooted in clarity, harmony, and craft, Right Angle Studio brings a refined sensibility to both residential and commercial spaces—a philosophy fully expressed in The Rasidence.
REDEFINING THE URBAN INTERIOR
The open kitchen layout features a bar counter that pays homage to the apartment’s original structure.
At its core, The Rasidence explores what it means to truly live well in compact spaces. With residential square footage at a premium, every design decision is intentional. The designers respond with tailored spatial zones that are both minimalistic and deeply intuitive, allowing for moments of solitude as well as connection.
The heart of the home lies in the dining and open kitchen areas, where unobtrusive elegance takes centre stage. A bespoke display shelf, flush with the dining room walls, creates visual cohesion while offering curated storage. Adjacent to this, a bar counter integrated into the open-plan kitchen offers a nostalgic nod to the apartment’s origins while serving as a sociable gathering point.

They draw the eye toward a serene outdoor garden—a rare and treasured feature in Singapore’s dense urban landscape. A planted tree at the lower level not only brings nature indoors but also symbolises growth and continuity, a quiet yet powerful expression of design with intention.
ARCHITECTURE IN MOTION
The master suite preserves original curved volumes.
The duplex structure called for a dramatic yet refined vertical transition. The designers reimagined the staircase, resting it atop dual wooden platforms to soften the shift between levels and improve access. Above, the mezzanine now enjoys a heightened sense of expansion thanks to an artificial skylight that bathes the space in diffused, radiant light—an architectural sleight of hand that transforms its once-dim character.
Anchoring the upper level is a sculptural wall feature. Its minimalist form, reminiscent of a parenthesis, frames the space with contemporary calm. In the master suite, original curved volumes are preserved, maintaining a dialogue with the home’s past while establishing a timeless tone. Soft creams and neutral hues flow throughout, evoking warmth and tranquillity.

As with all of the studio’s work, the home does more than serve its occupants; it tells a story. From the planted tree to the skylit ceiling, from grounded wood to gentle light, The Rasidence is a meditative response to Singapore’s spatial challenges and a quiet celebration of design’s power to transform.
