The river cruise will launch in Europe in 2027.

According to data, the total value of the market is projected to reach US$10 billion by 2030, marking a CAGR of 11.1%. Beyond the intrinsic value of the segment, there is an obvious appeal to river cruises.
The inland waterways are virtual arteries for the planet. A natural resource for communities, they are also home to important ecosystems which offer extensive social, environmental and economic benefits. Unlike sailing the world’s oceans, river cruises provide a more up close and personal sailing experience.
With the surging interest, cruise operators, Celebrity Cruises is looking to expand its presence across the world’s waterways. The company recently announced it is rolling out Celebrity River Cruises, a premium river cruise vacation setting sail in 2027.
New Fleet, New Routes
The company will bring the elevated design and sophistication of the Edge Series ocean ships to the river.
Reservation books are already open for bookings for these new river cruises. According to Celebrity Cruises, the company is investing in 10 transformative ships that will ferry passengers on these routes. The itineraries will see these new ships take guests to historic cities on the world’s most iconic rivers.
