Journey Around The Equator And Experience Their Lands With Five New Nespresso Master Origin Collections

Lay of the land

Ever since the first concept store launched in 2000, Nespresso has been growing; and today, they are a brand that is present in 76 countries with over 700 boutiques worldwide (end of 2017). Most of this growth came on the backs of their core collection of coffees, recognizable not just by the iconic shape of their pod or names like the Ristretto or Arpeggio but also the colours in which each blend is represented.

However, for the more adventurous coffee drinkers, it is the special edition coffees from Nespresso that pique their interest. And this time around they are back, offering a new Master Origin collection that takes the consumer on a journey around the equator, highlighting distinct coffee sensations all inspired by the land.

Nespresso Master Origin Colombia

When Nespresso approached their partnering local Colombian farmers and asked them to leave the coffee berries on the vine a little longer after they have turned the perfect deep and beautiful red, you an imaging there was resistance. Leaving it longer meant that there was a higher chance of spoiled cherries however the experts at Nespresso assured them that there are beans in specific regions of Colombia that would be enhanced as the cherries went from red to a deep-purple. And the result is the Master Origin Colombia.

Taste: The late harvest results in a balanced acidity, fruity red wine notes, and just the right amount of intensity to create a harmonious flavour profile.
