The Hari Singapore To Open In 2027 Following Orchard Road Hotel Luxury Transformation

The brand brings its design-led hospitality concept to Singapore following the repositioning of an existing city-centre property.

The Hari hotel collection is set to expand into Singapore, marking the third destination for the boutique luxury brand after London and Hong Kong. Scheduled to open in spring 2027, The Hari Singapore will occupy the current Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, which is undergoing a repositioning and refurbishment.

Once completed, the property will feature 326 guestrooms alongside a rooftop pool, wellness facilities, dining venues and an executive lounge. The opening reflects a broader trend across Asia’s hospitality landscape, where established properties are increasingly being reimagined to meet demand for more design-driven and experience-led stays.

A New Chapter For The Hari

Launched with the opening of The Hari London in 2016 and followed by The Hari Hong Kong in 2020, the brand has built a reputation around intimate luxury, contemporary design and a strong connection to the arts.

Singapore represents the next stage of that growth. Situated on Orchard Road, one of the city’s most established retail and hospitality districts, the hotel will offer guests a base from which to explore Singapore’s evolving cultural and culinary scene.

The property will also continue one of the brand’s defining features: a rotating programme of artwork integrated throughout public spaces and guest areas.

Design With A Sense Of Place

British interior designer Tara Bernerd, who led the design direction for both existing Hari properties, has been appointed to shape the Singapore hotel. Her approach typically combines contemporary luxury with local influences, creating interiors that feel rooted in their surroundings rather than interchangeable from one city to the next.

For Singapore, the design is expected to draw on the city’s cosmopolitan character while maintaining the understated elegance associated with the brand. The result is intended to feel more like a private residence than a conventional city hotel — an increasingly popular direction among luxury travellers seeking authenticity alongside comfort.

Expanding A Family Hospitality Legacy

The Hari brand forms part of the wider Harilela hospitality portfolio, owned by the Harilela family, whose hotel interests span Asia, Europe and the United States.

While Singapore’s luxury hotel market continues to welcome new international brands, The Hari’s arrival offers a different proposition: a smaller collection built around culture, design and personalised hospitality rather than scale.

With its opening still more than a year away, The Hari Singapore will nevertheless be one to watch as the city prepares for another addition to its increasingly sophisticated hospitality scene.
