If you’re looking to splurge on a great meal this festive season, head over to Nobu at its new home at Four Season Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

You’re in for a treat at Nobu and spoilt for choice this December. The festive month begins with a 5-course Delectable December For Two featuring two main courses, with the option to upgrade to more premium ingredients.

“December is always a memorable month for us where our guests are eager for delectable and unique experiences that we strive to offer. Having three different menus in one month is a challenging feat to ensure that each one is distinctly different on its own but tells its own story through the sequencing of dishes. The kitchen team worked really hard in preparation for this and we’re looking forward to seeing the reception,” said Executive Chef, Philip Leong.

The curated menu starts with the Moriawase comprising of Oyster Foie Gras with Caviar, Salmon Sashimi with Black Goma Sauce and Bonito Tataki Amarillo Jalapeno Sauce with Crispy Shiitake. Followed by the Chef’s Sushi Selection handpicked by Head Sushi Chef Masa, I must say that this is my favourite course, and sums up Nobu’s identity in one dish. The fish are freshly flown in from Japan, each sushi is complete with just the correct amount of wasabi and the way to eat it is to dip in just a little soya sauce. Sparingly, that is.

Next is the Nobu Style Seafood Ceviche, a dish where you can sample Peruvian fusion at Nobu, it’s a little bit sour for my liking but it’s fresh and a great start to the meal. The main dishes are the stars of this menu, my personal favourite is the Alaskan King Crab with Cha Soba with Soy Cream Sauce. The Grilled Japanese Wagyu Beef with Jerusalem Artichoke Puree, Pickles, Yamamomo Sauce and Coffee Soil would satisfy any appetite. It’s quite rare to have Jerusalem Artichoke Pureed, but it complements the juicy Grilled Japanese Wagyu Beef perfectly. For dessert, the final course of Cherry Ice Cream Cake is served with Caramel Miso, Chocolate Cream and Cherry Compote.

The special menu is only available on the 24th and 25th December and is priced at RM658++ per person.

Say goodbye to 2021, and welcome 2022 with a luxurious 6-course menu at Nobu. Start the evening with Moriawase comprising Shirako with Ceviche Miso, Madai Kiku Sauce and Abalone with Uni Butter Sauce. Followed by the Chef’s Sushi Selection.

Next, indulge in the Scallop Tataki with Quinoa Cranberry Salad in Jalapeno Dressing followed by a palate cleanser with the Chilled Homemade Tomato Pudding with Caviar. The next dish is my personal favourite, and I will definitely be back at Nobu just for the King Crab Yuzu Truffle Butter Sauce with Crispy Kale. I Savoured every bite.

The 5th course, Wagyu with Bottarga Sauce served with Roasted Jerusalem Artichoke and Shabu Mochi. The menu comes to a close with a delicious serving of Yuzu Chocolate Mousse with Black Goma Mochi made with Yuzu Curd, Vanilla Milk Ice Cream and Joconde Sponge.

The New Year at New Nobu menu is priced at RM758++ per person and is available only from 31st December 2021 to 1st January 2022.

December Menu for two

If you’ll like to dine at Nobu in December, I recommend trying the Delectable December for Two menus that will be available from the 1st to 23rd December from Sundays to Thursdays only. The 5-course set menu starts with  Moriawase of Oyster with Maui Onion Salsa, Salmon Sashimi with Karashisu Miso and Bonito Tataki with Ponzu Sauce and Crispy Onion. The second course is the Chef’s Sushi Selection.

For the third course, you’ll be served the Coral Grouper with Shiso Chimichurri Sal or upgrade to the Alaskan King Crab Cha Soba with Soy Cream Sauce for an additional RM70 per portion.

For the main course, Grilled Rib Eye steak with Jerusalem Artichoke Puree, Pickles, Yamamomo Sauce and Cofee ‘Soil,’ or upgrade to a premium cut of Japanese Wagyu for an additional RM165 per portion.
