MINI Celebrates 25 Years With The Oxford Edition

Limited to six units in Malaysia, the new model pays tribute to the birthplace of the motoring icon with exclusive Union Jack-inspired details.

Some places build cars. Others become part of their identity. For MINI, Oxford is both.

Twenty-five years after the first modern MINI rolled out of Plant Oxford, MINI Malaysia is marking the milestone with the New MINI Cooper S Oxford Edition, a limited-edition model created as a tribute to the city where the modern MINI story began.

Only six examples will be available in Malaysia, with three colour options — Chili Red, Indigo Sunset Blue and Blazing Blue — limited to two units each.

A Tribute To Oxford

The Oxford Edition takes the MINI Cooper S and adds a series of details inspired by the brand’s British roots.

The most immediate are its Union Jack roof and bonnet graphics, complemented by Oxford Edition hub caps, matching valve caps and a rear signature featuring Union Jack detailing.

MINI Oxford Edition

Inside, the theme continues with Oxford Edition touches across the cabin. The steering wheel badge carries the special-edition identity, while the entry sills and floor mats feature Union Jack detailing. An Oxford Edition key cap completes the package.

Rather than introducing a new interpretation of the MINI silhouette, the edition uses these details to connect the contemporary Cooper S with the history of the marque and its Oxford home.

British Style Beyond The Car

The celebration will also extend beyond the vehicle with the MINI Lifestyle Oxford Capsule, available from early October 2026.

The collection includes a MINI Traveller Bag, unisex T-shirts, a cap, MINI Oxford stickers and the MINI Umbrella Walking Stick. Finished in dark blue with Union Jack-inspired details, the capsule is designed to carry the Oxford Edition’s visual language into everyday life.

There is a particularly British touch to the umbrella, described by MINI as an essential for a British summer.

At its core, the Oxford Edition is a celebration of continuity. The first modern MINI began production at Plant Oxford in 2001, giving the marque a new chapter while retaining the compact proportions and distinctive personality that had made the original an icon.

Twenty-five years later, the Oxford Edition looks back to that starting point through a deliberately limited expression of the Cooper S — one that places the story of where MINI came from firmly at the centre of the car.
