MINI Malaysia pays tribute to its storied motorsport past with the unveiling of the MINI 1965 Victory Edition—an evocative, design-led celebration of one of the marque’s most defining moments.
Inspired by the legendary triumph of the Mini Cooper S at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1965, this limited edition channels the spirit of that improbable victory into a contemporary, all-electric form. Driven to glory by Timo Mäkinen, the original car rewrote expectations—proving that agility, precision and engineering ingenuity could outpace far larger rivals.
Today, that legacy is reborn through the All-Electric MINI John Cooper Works. The 1965 Victory Edition is as much a narrative object as it is a performance machine, weaving heritage into every detail. Its vivid Chili Red exterior is accentuated by a dynamic white stripe stretching from bonnet to rear, while the iconic race number “52” is emblazoned across its doors—a direct reference to the Monte Carlo-winning car.

Subtle yet considered touches reinforce its commemorative intent: discreet “1965” insignia along the C-pillar, bespoke door sills, and 18-inch JCW Mastery Spoke wheels in gloss black with floating hubs. Even the key cap bears the historic racing number, a small but resonant detail for the initiated.
