Perched high above Port de Sóller, where the UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana meets the Mediterranean, Jumeirah Mallorca has reopened for Summer 2026 with a programme that celebrates both the island’s natural beauty and one of the year’s most remarkable astronomical events.
The season’s defining highlight arrives on 12 August, when a total solar eclipse passes directly over Mallorca. Positioned within the path of totality, the hotel offers one of the Mediterranean’s most coveted vantage points from which to witness the phenomenon, transforming its dramatic clifftop setting into the stage for a rare celestial experience.

To mark the occasion, Jumeirah Mallorca has curated a four-day programme from 10 to 14 August that blends astronomy, gastronomy and wellbeing. Developed in collaboration with the Mallorca Astronomy Institute, the experience begins with expert-led masterclasses using advanced solar telescopes before culminating in eclipse viewing accompanied by live commentary from resident astronomers.
As day turns to night, guests will gather 100 metres above the sea for a cocktail reception inspired by the moon, followed by a choice of two distinctive dining experiences. Mediterranean cuisine takes centre stage at Cap Roig, while the Sunset Lounge presents its signature Nikkei menu against panoramic views of the coastline beneath the night sky.
Beyond The Eclipse

While the eclipse provides a spectacular centrepiece, the wider summer programme reflects Jumeirah Mallorca’s commitment to connecting guests with the island’s landscape and culture.
Experiences extend beyond the resort to include private yacht excursions along Mallorca’s rugged north-western coastline, intimate dining experiences among centuries-old olive groves and wellness rituals designed to reconnect guests with the surrounding natural environment. Together, they offer a slower, more immersive way to experience the Balearic island.
The approach reflects a growing appetite for travel centred on meaningful experiences rather than conventional sightseeing, pairing luxury hospitality with opportunities to engage more deeply with place.
A New Season Above The Mediterranean

Set between mountain peaks and the sea, Jumeirah Mallorca has long occupied one of Spain’s most dramatic hotel settings. This summer, the resort builds on that natural advantage with a programme that places the destination itself at the heart of the experience.
Whether witnessing a once-in-a-generation eclipse, sailing along Mallorca’s coastline or discovering the island’s culinary traditions, guests are invited to experience a season where nature, culture and hospitality converge in one of the Mediterranean’s most striking locations.
