Cruise and ferry passengers are not only free to explore Jewel, but will also enjoy access to the Changi Lounge, a comfortable waiting area fitted with nap amenities, showers, and business facilities. Transportation will also be pre-arranged to bring passengers to their cruise or ferry terminal.
Get up-close with over 100,000 different types of plants
With over 2,000 trees and palms, and 100,000 shrubs sitting under Jewel Changi Airport’s soaring dome, casual botanists no longer have to take a day-trip down to Gardens by the Bay for their green fix. Spanning over 120 species, these plants have been transplanted from the world over, including countries such as Spain, United States, and Australia. Two olive trees, each over a hundred years old, can be found at the Canopy Park.
The forest valley encircling the waterfall is marked by two paved terraced trails allowing for visitors to explore the gardens. These vertical trails connect the forest valley to over 280 retail shops and dining outlets spread across five levels of Jewel.
Marvel at the world’s tallest indoor waterfall
More than 9,000 pieces of glass, each distinct in cut and shape, come together to form the striking dome-shaped façade of Jewel. These special glass panels were chosen for their ability to transmit light while reducing heat gain, thus creating an ideal condition to sustain the indoor gardens within.
This monumental structure forms the backdrop for the world’s tallest waterfall to make its debut. Water falls from the apex of the glass roof, raining down from a height of 40-metres. Rainwater, which forms part of the water supply, is harvested for use in Jewel’s irrigation systems.
Dine at restaurants with the best views
There might be over 100 cafes, restaurants, and eateries – but not all come with prime views of the forest valley or rain vortex. Make a beeline for Sama Sama by Tok Tok (#03-225/226) and TONITO Latin American Kitchen (#02-248) to enjoy the terrace dining experience as these F&B outlets enjoy special dining nooks that extend into the forest valley.
The eight F&B oulets located at the Canopy Park (which occupies Jewel’s topmost floor) offer up quite possibly the best views at Jewel Changi. Besides featuring al fresco sitting set amongst the park’s lush greenery, guests at these restaurants also get to dine in a cool, climate-controlled environment. Park at the new Terminal 1/Jewel car park
While Jewel is designed to be a central node between the airport terminals at Changi Airport, the most convenient carpark for local visitors driving to the attraction would be the one sited at Terminal 1 or Jewel itself. Situated within the building, the five-level underground carpark features a total of 2,500 parking spaces. Those parking at Terminal 2 or 3 can walk over to Jewel via link bridges while those at Terminal 4 will have to hop onto a connecting bus.
