Inside Grand Hyatt Damai’s New HYROX Training Pathway In Singapore

The fitness program combines structured training, coaching and recovery under one roof.

At Grand Hyatt Singapore, Damai is expanding its HYROX offering into a year-round fitness pathway that pairs structured training with the increasingly important business of recovery.

Hotels have long understood the value of a good gym. Increasingly, however, fitness-minded travellers expect something more purposeful than a room of treadmills and weights. At Grand Hyatt Singapore, that shift is reflected in Damai, which is positioning its fitness and wellness facilities as a training ground for one of the world’s fastest-growing fitness competitions.

As Southeast Asia’s first hotel-based HYROX Training Club, Damai is expanding its offering from 14 September 2026 with a more structured pathway covering everything from general conditioning to competition preparation. The idea is less about a single workout than progression: getting participants from their first session to race day, while making recovery part of the equation.

From Conditioning To Competition

The new programme is built around two classes and two nine-week programmes. MetCon, short for metabolic conditioning, provides the entry point, using intervals, circuits and timed efforts to build strength, endurance and aerobic fitness. Sessions run for 45 to 60 minutes and accommodate up to 10 participants, with coaching designed to establish the physical base needed for more specialised training.

HY-PACE moves closer to the HYROX format itself. Limited to six participants, the 45- to 60-minute sessions introduce official HYROX programming alongside pacing strategies and race-specific movements. The emphasis is on efficiency as much as exertion: learning how to manage effort, movement and fatigue while developing the strength, speed, power and endurance required across a HYROX event.

For those with a specific finish line in mind, HY-READY offers a nine-week progression beginning the week of 28 September. Following an introductory week focused on movement and technique, participants train up to three times a week with an assigned HYROX-Certified coach. The programme is aimed at those preparing for their first race, with particular attention paid to pacing, movement efficiency and fatigue management.

At the other end of the spectrum is HY-PERFORMANCE, Damai’s most personalised option. Training up to four times a week over nine weeks, participants work with a HYROX Level 1 Certified coach on programming tailored to their competition goals. Whether targeting Pro, Solo, Doubles or Relay, regular assessments are used to identify weaknesses and track progress.

Recovery As Part Of The Workout

What distinguishes the offering, however, is the setting. Rather than treating recovery as an afterthought, Damai folds it into the training proposition, giving participants access to its 400 sqm Fitness Centre and Thermal Hydrotherapy facilities, with the more advanced programme also including the 25-metre semi-Olympic pool and Wellness Pool.

The HYROX Membership extends that model beyond a fixed programme. Members also receive unlimited access to MetCon and HY-PACE, alongside the sauna, steam room and hydro-massage pools.

There is a broader hospitality lesson here. As wellness becomes less about occasional indulgence and more about sustained performance, the hotel gym is evolving into something closer to a club: somewhere to train, recover and establish a routine. Damai’s HYROX offering reflects that change, combining the infrastructure of a luxury hotel with the discipline of a dedicated training facility.

For some, the objective will be a first race. For others, a faster one. Either way, the destination is no longer simply somewhere to stay. It is somewhere to get better.
