Some of Asia’s most-renowned culinary stars will be boarding the Eastern & Oriental Express for its upcoming chef series. Launching from 28 April 2025, the journey will see acclaimed chefs Vicky Cheng, Jason Liu and Jungsik Yim join the train’s culinary curator André Chiang to showcase Asia’s best cuisine.
The guest chef series on board the Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train, Southeast Asia, will see the three acclaimed Asian chefs feature on a three-night Wild Malaysia journey showcasing the best of the region’s cuisine.
Titled “Tastes of Tomorrow: A Culinary Gathering with Chef André Chiang”, the journey will kick off with Chef Vicky Cheng of restaurant Wing and VEA in Hong Kong on 28 April. Chef Jason Liu of restaurant LING LONG in Beijing and Shanghai will board the train on 28 July.
Rounding up the itinerary will be Chef Jungsik Yim of restaurant Jungsik in Seoul and New York on 8 September. Additionally, acclaimed bartender and mixologist Shelley Tai will curate an exclusive cocktail menu for each gala dinner on board.
Alongside Chef Chiang’s menu, each of the three renowned guest chefs will create a signature dish that evokes the rich heritage of the region. Then, on the final evening, they will co-curate a memorable four-hands dinner that celebrates the synergy of friendship and flavour, reimagining Malaysia’s local cuisine.

This collaboration showcases not only the talent of the chefs, but also the essential role spices play in connecting history, culture, and the present culinary landscape. Guests will also gain the opportunity to engage Chef Chiang and his Michelin-starred guest chefs to uncover more about their creative process during the trip.
The Eastern & Oriental Express runs three-night itineraries year-round, with the “Wild Malaysia” itinerary running from March to October.
