For the last 20 years, there has been one place that has gathered a large following of discerning travellers seeking for a respite from the world’s fast changing pace. The exclusive resort called Chiva-Som is so much more than a holiday destination, offering holistic health modalities, as well as various cosmetic procedures.
Located in the royal city of Hua-Hin in Thailand, Chiva-Som is set across seven acres of beachfront, and is a coveted destination spa that focuses on health and vitality through its signature holistic approach. Combining international standards and traditional Thai values and beliefs, the offerings at Chiva-Som are broad and deep with a wide range of specialised treatments from Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, Western naturopathy, energy therapies to award-winning curated cuisine meals. Various tailored treatments and education programs are held to promote healthy living as guests embark on a journey to greater wellness. To facilitate this, each guest is assigned to a Health & Wellness advisor (qualified naturopaths), who extensively evaluates and plans a program designed to the guest’s unique needs and interest. Individual programs are curated in a positive and non-regimented way to ensure that guests are at ease and comfortable at all times.
Within its grounds lies clusters of guest pavilions inspired by historical Thai architecture surrounded by lush tropical gardens, lakes and waterfalls. As privacy and space is paramount to the serene and tranquil atmosphere, only 54 rooms and suites are available with spacious terraces overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. The resort also features an exercise pool, plunge pool, waterfalls, hydro-Jacuzzi, steam room, Kneipp therapy footbath, dance studio, tai chi pavilion, Pilate’s studio and Yoga pavilion.
Chiva-Som has recently unveiled four new retreats to support the new normal lifestyles that we are currently living in across the globe. These new retreats focus on specific objectives to suit the changing needs of today’s environment – Immune Resilience, Gut Health, Nature’s Embrace and Senior Wellness. Each retreat is designed over a course of several days and includes accommodation, three wellness meals per day, physical analysis, massages, fitness and leisure activities, an extensive list of complimentary daily treatments to choose from, and a post-stay wellness follow-up.
As far as travelling into Thailand, this is now possible under the Phuket, Krabi, Phang-Nga and Surat Thani Sandbox programmes or Happy Quarantine Schemes before traveling onwards to Hua-Hin. As travel and entry requirements change often, it is advisable to visit the Tourism Authority of Thailand website before planning your trip.
