Before you know it we’ll be welcoming Chinese New Year. It is one of the important celebrations for feasting and celebrating as we look forward to a happy and prosperous year of the Rabbit. This year, the festival falls on Sunday, January 22nd and the CNY reunion dinner will be held on the day before. It is considered the most memorable get-together meal of the entire year with family, relatives or colleagues.

Here we have some great places that offer an array of unique dishes to usher in the Year of the Rabbit. The menus feature exquisite Chinese cuisine, sure to satisfy your appetite.

The St Regis, Kuala Lumpur

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur offers rooms in various sizes to accommodate family reunions, gathering with friends or company events. The Prosperity Yee Sang is a recipe handed down from generation to generation of the hotel’s owning family, Puan Sri Sharon Chua’s ancestral kitchen. The Prosperity Yee Sang is available for dine-in at The Brasserie, or in the comfort of the private dining rooms on Level 2. Yee Sang is also available for takeaway and delivery.

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur “House of Fortune” pop-up store located at the Hotel lobby is your go-to for pre-order and take-away homemade cookies with signature spreads, cakes and the traditional “Nian Gao”. A great selection of gifting boxes is available.

Enjoy lunch or dinner with Chef De Cuisine, Cheong Boon Fei’s and the hotel’s owning family’s curated treasured family recipes. Set menus are available for small groups of 4 onwards.

The set menu starts with Braised Bird’s Nest Soup with Chicken, Bamboo Pith & Egg White, Roasted Chicken Roulade with Mogolian Sauce, Baked Red Snapper with Green Ginger Paste, Braised Abalone & Dried Oyster, “Fatt Choy” in Golden Broth, Cantonese Style Fried Rice with Smoked Duck Meat and more. Available for lunch and dinner, reserve our private dining rooms, The Astor Rooms or the Grand Ballroom for groups from as small as 4 guests onwards.

Be our guest at The Drawing Room as we unveil our decadent Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea desserts this year to include a Jade Garden Cake, Berry Sensation Happiness, Money Bag Cheese cake, Jivara Mandarin, Yuan Bao Red Packet and of course our warm scones with clotted cream, homemade jam and savoury canapés.

The Brasserie’s Sunday Brunch will be joining in the celebration with a Chinese New Year-themed brunch highlighting signature dishes from the Chinese New Year menu. Available on the 22nd, 29th January & 5th February 2023  from 12pm – 3pm.
