The Niro EV is Kia’s best effort yet at making a fully battery-electric SUV that offers a good range for not a lot of money (starting from US$38,500. It’s more fun than its looks or specs would suggest, and it’s packed with a deep roster of standard features that make any modern Kia so hard to beat for value. The list includes a newly standard rear-occupant alert to help protect children from getting left in the car. All models also have a remote-start system that allows the cabin to be pre-conditioned, while driver-assistance tech is enhanced with the addition of navigation-based adaptive cruise control and an alert that notifies the driver when the leading vehicle drives away.
