Malaysia’s cruise tourism landscape will see a new addition in late 2026 as Hwajing Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd prepares to bring Adora Mediterranea to Port Klang for a limited homeport season.
The deployment marks Adora Cruises’ first overseas homeport arrangement and represents Hwajing Travel’s third international cruise charter initiative operating from Port Klang, following earlier programmes involving Costa Serena and MV Piano Land.
The collaboration was formalised during ITB China 2026 through an agreement exchange ceremony between Hwajing Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd and Adora Cruises Limited, witnessed by representatives from Malaysia’s tourism sector.
For Hwajing Travel, the initiative forms part of its ongoing involvement in Malaysia’s growing cruise segment while expanding the range of regional cruise options available to local travellers. The programme also coincides with the company’s 37th anniversary.
Cruise Tourism Boost

“Hwajing Travel is pleased to collaborate with Adora Cruises as the brand begins its first overseas homeport deployment,” said Kenny Cheong, Managing Director of Hwajing Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd. “We hope this partnership will provide Malaysian and regional travellers with another accessible cruise option that combines convenience with a more locally attuned onboard experience.”
Jenny Ye, Vice President, Sales, Revenue Management & Commercial Operation at Adora Cruises Limited, described Malaysia as an important market for the company’s regional growth plans. “We look forward to introducing Adora Mediterranea to guests in Malaysia and Southeast Asia through this collaboration with Hwajing Travel,” she said.
Adora Mediterranea, described by the company as an upgraded “Art Ship”, features Mediterranean-inspired interiors alongside a selection of dining venues, entertainment spaces, themed bars and family-oriented facilities. The vessel accommodates up to 2,680 passengers across 1,057 cabins and 12 decks.
All sailings during the Malaysia deployment will depart from Port Klang, allowing travellers to begin their journeys directly from Malaysia. The onboard experience will also include Muslim-friendly dining options and multilingual service support in Mandarin, English and Malay.
The deployment will feature four itineraries, including short cruises to Penang, Langkawi and Phuket, as well as a longer voyage to Guangzhou via Nha Trang. Eight sailings are scheduled between 24 November and 14 December 2026, with fares starting from RM499.
As regional travel demand continues to evolve, the collaboration reflects growing interest in shorter, more accessible cruise holidays designed for Southeast Asian travellers seeking convenient regional getaways.
