French luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault was named the wealthy person atop the Forbes billionaire’s list, with an estimated fortune of $211bil (RM930bil).

Throughout his 30 years at the helm of LVMH, Arnault built it into the world’s largest luxury goods company, with over 70 brands, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany, Sephora, Givenchy, and Marc Jacobs.

Arnott, 74, has a personal fortune of $211 billion. That puts him more than $31 billion ahead of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whose $44 billion acquisition of Twitter last year was followed by a crash in Tesla’s stock price that reduced his fortune to $180 billion, ranked second on the list.

The combined wealth of this year’s list reached $12.2 trillion altogether.
