Three Pastel Mechanical Timepiece Ranges for Watch Fans who Love Colour

Brighten your collection with summery offerings from Breitling, Hublot and Oris.

With summer in full swing in many parts of the world, several watch brands are releasing timepieces in cheery, bright colours — especially timely since joy is something we could do with more of right now. To put watch fans in the mood for some fun in the sun, Oris, Breitling and Hublot are offering mechanical timepieces in pastel hues, and some interesting case materials to boot (think bronze and aluminium).

The best part is that here in Singapore and Malaysia, our eternal summer means that it won’t feel inappropriate for you to sport these tickers year-round — or whenever you feel like some cheerful wrist candy. Here’s a closer look at these timepieces.

02: Hublot Big Bang Unico Summer

Pastel Timepieces

Having used aluminium as a case material for last summer’s Big Bang Millennial Pink, Hublot revisits the lightweight metal for the new Big Bang Unico Summer in turquoise. Elevated with a mix of satin-finishing and polishing, the colour is inspired by that of the lagoons that many travel buffs can probably only dream of right now. The hue is created via an anodisation process, which also helps to create a protective layer on a metal that is relatively soft.

This 42mm chronograph is powered by the in-house HUB1280 Unico movement, which is visible through a skeletonised dial with matte turquoise accents. The column-wheel flyback chronograph movement has a 72-hour power reserve. It also comes with two straps, in Velcro and in rubber, and is water-resistant to 100m.

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Summer retails for US$20,900 (approximately RM87,593)
