The Kameido district in Tokyo was where the origins of the first King Seiko began in 1961. Today, inspired by the beauty of King Seiko’s roots in Kameido, Tokyo, an area often depicted in ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period, these new timepieces represent a unique graduation of colour in a distinctly Japanese design.

The new timepieces come in three unique hues. A deep red graduation symbolises the blooming plum blossoms, a cherished flower that heralds the start of the spring season.

There’s also the soft purple gradiaton dial, which expresses wisteria flower patterns, a tribute to the wisteria of Kameido.

Interestingly, Kameido is also sometimes referred to as “turtle island” due to its shape which resembled the shell of a turtle. Inspired by this, the deep blue shade with the turtle shell design is inspired by Kameido’s famous Sumida River that flows through the district.
