In a significant move within the luxury industry, Richemont has announced the acquisition of Vhernier S.p.A., a renowned Italian jewellery maison. This acquisition marks Richemont’s endeavour to further enrich its portfolio of prestigious houses distinguished by the finest craftsmanship and creativity.

Established in Valenza, Italy, in 1984 and later acquired by the Traglio family in 2001, Vhernier has carved a niche for itself with its distinctive modern aesthetic. The brand’s jewellery designs are celebrated for their bold sculptural shapes, inspired by the curves of the human body and modern sculpture, and the innovative use of materials such as titanium, bronze, and ebony alongside traditional precious metals and gems. This unique blend of materials and craftsmanship has been the hallmark of Vhernier’s collections, including the iconic Calla and Palloncino lines.

All Vhernier creations are meticulously handcrafted in the town of Valenza, which is renowned for its excellence in jewellery manufacturing. These exquisite pieces are currently retailed through an exclusive network of mono-brand boutiques and prestigious multi-brand stores, predominantly in Europe and the United States.

Notably, Vhernier also operates De Vecchi Milano 1935, an esteemed Italian heritage silverware and home decor brand, sharing the same passion for design, quality, and “Made in Italy” craftsmanship.

Richemont chairman Johann Rupert emphasises the maison’s distinguished design legacy that seamlessly blends modern elegance with unconventional materials: “Vhernier’s unique aesthetic perfectly complements our existing collection of renowned jewellery maisons. We are delighted to welcome Vhernier’s talented team into the Richemont family. We very much look forward to working together to realise the full potential of this exceptional maison within the thriving branded jewellery market.”

With Richemont’s extensive experience and global presence across various luxury sectors, including jewellery maisons, specialist watchmakers, as well as fashion and accessory houses, the acquisition is poised to open a new chapter for Vhernier’s growth and bring more one-of-a-kind bejewelled offerings to the international consumer.
