For watch collectors, few names carry the same weight as Patek Philippe. Now, the Genevan manufacture has unveiled its most significant retail destination in Southeast Asia with the opening of a new boutique at The Starhill, Kuala Lumpur.
Developed in partnership with Cortina Watch, the 312-square-metre space is now the largest Patek Philippe boutique in the region. More than a showcase for exceptional timepieces, it offers collectors an immersive introduction to the world of the independent family-owned manufacture.
A Façade Inspired By The Calatrava Cross

Located along Bukit Bintang’s premier luxury corridor, the boutique makes an immediate architectural statement. Its 12.6-metre façade features intricate Kirigami-inspired patterns derived from the iconic Calatrava Cross, one of Patek Philippe’s most recognisable symbols.
Throughout the day, natural light filters through the geometric structure and creates a shifting interplay of light and shadow. Meanwhile, integrated lighting transforms the façade into a luminous landmark after dark. A double-sided clock further pays tribute to the maison’s watchmaking heritage. As a result, the exterior balances contemporary design with the timeless elegance associated with Patek Philippe.
Designed Around The Collector Experience

Inside, the boutique unfolds across two levels, each designed for a different stage of discovery. Visitors are first welcomed into a watch gallery and exhibition space that traces the histories of both Patek Philippe and Cortina Watch. Beyond the retail area, the boutique offers private spaces for a more personalised experience. These include a discreet dining suite, consultation rooms and a library-inspired VIP salon.
In addition, warm materials such as maple, Indian rosewood, burnished brass and silk textiles lend a residential quality to the interiors. Consequently, the atmosphere feels both refined and inviting. Upstairs, a dedicated lounge and bar provide a setting for collector gatherings, presentations and private events.
One of the boutique’s most distinctive features is its celebration of local culture through commissioned artworks. A sculpted wood installation inspired by Mount Kinabalu anchors the space. In doing so, it pays tribute to one of Malaysia’s most recognisable natural landmarks. Elsewhere, a large-scale reinterpretation of Birds on a Yellow Ground draws inspiration from Patek Philippe’s Dome Clock Ref. 20208M. It also highlights the intricate craftsmanship of traditional Longwy enamel techniques.
Together, these artworks create a dialogue between Swiss watchmaking heritage and Malaysian artistic expression.
A New Home For Collectors

As luxury retail continues to evolve, experience-led destinations are becoming increasingly important. Accordingly, the new Patek Philippe boutique reflects a growing desire for spaces that foster deeper connections between collectors and the maisons they admire.
At The Starhill, that vision comes to life through architecture, craftsmanship and hospitality. More importantly, the boutique serves as a gathering place for the region’s watch collecting community. While it is the largest Patek Philippe boutique in Southeast Asia, it also represents a new home for collectors. Here, the appreciation of fine watchmaking extends far beyond the display case.
