The Speedmaster 38 mm has always occupied its own space within OMEGA’s celebrated chronograph family: compact, versatile and distinctly more refined than its larger Moonwatch counterpart. Now, OMEGA is bringing the two closer together with seven new references that sharpen the collection’s sporting character while retaining its elegant proportions.
The latest evolution introduces a series of subtle but meaningful changes. Most notably, the familiar oval subdials have been replaced by rounded designs, giving the watches a more traditional chronograph appearance.

The dials also carry less wording, creating a cleaner visual balance, while the tachymeter bezels return to a thicker profile featuring the signature Dot-Over-Ninety detail associated with the Moonwatch.
Each model is paired with a five-link bracelet inspired by the Moonwatch, with combinations of polished and brushed finishing used to distinguish the different references.
“With this latest update, we’ve taken the Moonwatch inspiration even further, helping to enrich the Speedmaster DNA while still retaining the refined and unique nature that the 38 mm range is known for,” says Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA.
A More Defined Speedmaster

The new collection spans stainless-steel, two-tone and diamond-set configurations, offering a broad interpretation of the updated design language.
The stainless-steel models begin with a black-dial reference that comes closest to the traditional Moonwatch aesthetic. Its black aluminium bezel and matte black varnished dial are paired with white Super-LumiNova on the hands and indexes. Inside, the watch is powered by the Co-Axial Calibre 3332, making it the sole reference in the new collection without a date display.

A white-dial version introduces a more contemporary contrast through a blue ceramic bezel with a white enamel tachymeter scale, while blue CVD-coated hands and indexes continue the colour theme. The silvery-dial model takes a warmer approach, combining an opaline silvery PVD dial with Sedna™ Gold PVD detailing and a warm grey aluminium bezel.

The two bicolour references add further sophistication. One combines a silvery opaline dial with an 18K Moonshine™ Gold bezel, green aluminium bezel ring and gold tachymeter scale. The other revisits the Speedmaster 38 mm’s distinctive “cappuccino” aesthetic with an ivory dial, brown subdials, an 18K Sedna™ Gold bezel and matching brown bezel ring.
For a more jewellery-inspired interpretation, two further references feature 52 diamonds totalling 1.53 carats set around the bezel. Available with either an ice blue PVD dial or white mother-of-pearl, both pair the shimmering bezel with rhodium-plated hands and Super-LumiNova-filled indexes.
Two Movements, Seven Expressions

Underneath the updated designs are two self-winding Co-Axial movements. The Calibre 3330 powers the six date-equipped references, while the black-dial model houses the Calibre 3332, dispensing with the date for a cleaner, more traditional chronograph layout.
Together, the seven new references demonstrate how the Speedmaster 38 mm can move closer to the visual language of the Moonwatch without becoming a smaller imitation of it. Its more compact case, varied materials and broader palette continue to give the collection an identity of its own — now with a little more of the Speedmaster’s unmistakable racing DNA.
