Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot has announced a new variant of its 2017 Big Bang GMT in the form of the all-new limited-edition Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto.
For this exclusive timepiece, Hublot has tapped on the talents of avant-garde fashion designer and master tailor Yohji Yamamoto to coincide with the grand opening of its new flagship Boutique on Chuo-dori Street in Ginza, Tokyo.
The All Black limited edition was created by the two parties as an expression of simple beauty by marrying Yamamoto’s signature black design and Hublot’s complicated GMT manufacture movement.
Forged in micro-blasted and polished black ceramic, the Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto is completely coated in an elegant shade of black that covers everything from its black hands, black dial and black rubber strap. Even the sapphire crystal is made of smoked sapphire.
Powered by an in-house produced HUB1251 movement, the Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamotocomes with a patented module that allows the GMT hand on the watch to be adjusted to a second time zone with the pushers on the side of the case. It features two pushers at the two and four o’clock that are styled after chronograph pushers. They are used to advanced the local time forward and backward in one-hour increments.
The time in the home region is indicated using a second arrow-shaped hour hand and integrates with a day/night indicator, set by using the crown.
True to the All Black concept, tone on tone, the signature of Yohji Yamamoto can be discovered at six o’clock.
Limited to just 50 pieces, the Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto will exclusively be available at the Hublot Boutique Ginza.
