Tiffany & Co. is reinforcing its long-term commitment to environmental stewardship, which began nearly 25 years ago, with the launch of Love For Our Oceans, an initiative that pledges US$1 million to The Nature Conservancy (TNC).

This significant contribution is part of a larger effort to help conserve four billion hectares of ocean by 2030, advancing global efforts to protect critical marine habitats, enhance the health of our oceans, and provide resources for generations to come.

As a steadfast partner of TNC, the house has a deep-rooted history in supporting marine conservation. Since 2007, it has awarded over US$2 million in grants through The Tiffany & Co. Foundation to further ocean protection efforts. What’s more, the foundation has contributed to it an additional US$6.5 million towards preserving essential ecosystems, underscoring the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainability.

To contribute towards the Love For Our Oceans initiative, Tiffany & Co. has introduced a new line of T Smile by Tiffany cord bracelets. Crafted from REPREVE Our Ocean cords, a sustainable material made entirely from ocean-bound plastic bottles, the creations come in three choices: yellow gold with blue cord, rose gold and diamonds with black cord, and rose gold with red cord.

These stackable, versatile bracelets serve as both a statement of style and a symbol of Tiffany & Co.’s dedication to eco-consciousness. By transforming discarded ocean plastics into luxury pieces, the brand showcases its commitment to using innovation and creativity to address global challenges.

Anthony Ledru, the company’s president and CEO, says, “Tiffany & Co. has made great progress in its ocean conservation efforts through both corporate and foundation grants. The Love For Our Oceans initiative represents the next chapter in our ongoing journey, as well as our love of the planet and the beautiful materials and resources that it affords us.”

Love For Our Oceans is part of its broader legacy of sustainability, which is powered by The Tiffany & Co. Foundation. Since its inception in 2000, the foundation has bestowed over US$38 million in total grants to 44 organisations across 30 countries, contributing to ocean protection on a global scale.

From the Caribbean to Australia and beyond, the foundation has played a pivotal role in the creation of Marine Protected Areas, covering more than 13 million sq km, and supporting crucial studies like 50 Reefs, which identified coral reefs most resilient to climate change.

TNC CEO Jennifer Morris sheds light on the initiative’s impact: “For more than a decade, Tiffany & Co. and The Nature Conservancy have collaborated on projects that protect nature — from coral reefs in the Caribbean to salmon runs in Alaska. Love For Our Oceans opens the next chapter in our work together, and will contribute to TNC’s goal to conserve 4 billion hectares — or about 10 per cent — of the world’s most important ocean habitats.”

With its unwavering commitment to ocean conservation, Tiffany & Co. continues to lead the way in sustainable luxury, proving that beauty and responsibility can work hand in hand. Certainly, for consumers who care for the planet, this is a cause worth supporting.
