7. Gypsy Setting

Referred to as “shot setting” or “burnish setting”, gypsy setting in jewellery such as rings and bracelets are when a diamond or gemstone sits flush against the surface, with the whole stone sunk into the metal. Considered one of the more secure forms of jewellery setting, gypsy style is suitable for an active, on-the-go lifestyle as there is no chance of damaging the precious stone or diamond. Typically used for smaller stones or accent diamonds, the only thing to take note of is that softer minerals and gemstones such as coral and sapphire cannot be used as they may be damaged during the setting process.
