A Culinary Celebration

Su Kim Hock

Su Kim Hock is the culinary genius behind Penang’s one-Michelin-starred Au Jardin.

Featured chefs that have lent their expertise in the first part of the programme include Ana Roš (Slovenia), Jordi Artal (Spain), and Jan Hartwig (Germany), with events hosted at The Datai’s elegant Dining Room and complemented by intimate cooking demonstrations.

During the series, each chef crafted a bespoke menu reflecting their culinary philosophy, guided by the produce of Langkawi and the organic ingredients cultivated in the resort’s own zero-waste Permaculture Garden. Showcasing cuisines from Europe to Asia and sharing a passion for locally sourced, seasonal produce, this remarkable line-up presented diverse culinary philosophies and unique styles.

No doubt, the series has undoubtedly cemented The Datai Langkawi’s reputation as a leading destination for fine dining, which is set to continue. The luxury property has already announced Part II of the series for 2025.

The upcoming chapter brings together an exceptional roster of some of the world’s most celebrated Michelin-starred chefs, including Chef Jan Hartwig of JAN, Munich, and Chef Alain Roux from the UK’s The Waterside Inn.  Further details can be found here.
