For more than five decades, Chatterbox has been a beloved name in Singapore’s dining scene. Its calling card has consistently been delivering comforting local flavours with a touch of finesse.
Known best for its famous Mandarin Chicken Rice, the restaurant has become synonymous with quality, nostalgia, and the warm spirit of Singaporean hospitality. Now, the chain has a plan to take its brand of cuisine global.
A Taste Of Heritage

First opened in 1971, Chatterbox quickly became a culinary landmark. Its signature chicken rice — featuring tender boneless chicken, fragrant rice cooked in stock, sesame oil and chicken fat, and house-made sauces — remains a perennial favourite.
Its star dish aside, the restaurant has consistently elevated Singapore’s hawker favourites, reimagining classics with premium ingredients while staying true to their roots. Options such as stir-fried Hokkien Mee and its Lobster Laksa and the humble Pie Tee reflects Singapore’s vibrant food culture.
Beyond Chicken Rice

Today, the Chatterbox family spans three distinct concepts, each offering a unique take on Singaporean cuisine. Its outlet at Hilton Singapore Orchard remains the flagship restaurant, Chatterbox Express, located in Changi Airport Terminal 1, caters to travellers seeking authentic Singaporean flavours on the go, serving up familiar favourites in convenient, bento-style boxes.

Chatterbox Café, its newest outlet at Resorts World Sentosa’s WEAVE Mall, embraces a more relaxed, family-friendly setting, inviting diners to share and explore a wider range of dishes together. Under their Café brand, the group is now expanding across Asia, introducing the world to the rich culinary traditions of Singapore.
Alongside its Singapore locations, Chatterbox now operates in Hong Kong and Macau, with upcoming openings in Tokyo, Taipei, and Manila through 2026. Each new outpost continues the brand’s mission — to serve as a global ambassador for Singaporean cuisine, connecting people through flavour, culture, and shared experiences.
