Renowned for their expertise in building cars like the Leaf and its iconic Z-Series sports cars, Nissan has now focused its attention on crafting an exquisite sushi knife. Teaming up with renowned sushi chef Hiroyuki “Chef Hiro” Terada and legendary knifemaker Satoshi Kiryu, the Japanese automotive brand has crafted the Z NISMO Precision Sushi Knife.
This stunning piece merges the world of high-performance automobiles with centuries-old Japanese knifemaking craftsmanship. And for fans of both the car maker and budding chefs, this Nissan knife may well be a coveted piece to have in the kitchen.

The Z NISMO Precision Sushi Knife.
Handmade in Japan, this 210mm (8.27-inch) double-bevelled blade is a tribute to the Nissan Z NISMO sports car. Just as the Z NISMO is exemplifies peak performance, the sushi knife embodies precision and mastery.
The knife’s design reflects the iconic silhouette of the Z car, with crisp lines and a katana-inspired silver roof accent, while a striking red spacer on the buffalo horn handle mirrors the red accents of the NISMO edition’s bodywork.
Looking Sharp

The master in his workshop.
Kiryu, a renowned master in the art of knifemaking from Niigata Prefecture crafted the blade. Kiryu’s family business has been producing high-quality knives for nearly a century, and he brings nearly five decades of expertise to the project.
He designed the knife with the Z NISMO’s design in mind, focusing on clean lines and balanced sharpness for optimal performance. Each blade is meticulously forged, quenched, tempered, polished, and sharpened to perfection, with special attention given to ensuring the blade’s symmetry.
Chef Hiro, a Nissan fan and sushi expert with millions of YouTube subscribers, played a pivotal role in the development of the knife. Known for his precision and skill, he emphasised that this blade needed to be specifically designed for sushi preparation, offering the perfect balance between form and function.
“A chef is only as good as their knife,” Chef Hiro explains, underscoring the knife’s importance in elevating the craft of sushi.

The Sushi Knife arrives in its own custom made box.
Nissan is crafting only 240 units of the Z NISMO Precision Sushi Knife. Each has its own individual number engraved on the blade number in red. The knife comes in a specially designed black-lacquered box, adorned with the Nissan logo and Chef Hiro’s signature. Inside the box, six generations of Z logos, dating back to the original 1969 model, alludes to Nissan’s heritage.
Priced at just over USD300 (RM1330) the knife is a limited-edition collectible that blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern Nissan design. It is exclusively available for purchase through the NISMO Parts website.
