Travel often begins with a destination, but Dior Maison begins it much earlier—in the imagination. Christian Dior drew deep inspiration from Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days. The novel captured discovery, movement, and possibility. Dior Maison now channels that spirit in its latest creation, The Fantastique Voyage de Monsieur Dior. The collection turns travel into a poetic language of home objects.
Cordelia de Castellane, Artistic Director of Dior Maison, leads the heart of this collection. She reinterprets Verne’s universe with playfulness and elegance. She does not retell the story directly. Instead, she evokes its spirit through visual storytelling. The hot-air balloon stands as the central motif. It symbolises freedom, exploration, and the dream of rising above the ordinary. It appears across finely crafted Limoges porcelain pieces and anchors the collection’s visual journey.

The collection features carefully designed tableware and decorative objects. It includes six dinner plates, six dessert plates, two oval serving dishes, and a trinket tray. Each piece carries Dior’s iconic symbols: the CD monogram, star, bee, rose, clover, and lily of the valley. These motifs do more than decorate the surface. They guide the eye and suggest movement, as if tracing a journey across continents and time.
The hot-air balloon motif strengthens this sense of motion. Surrounding illustrations show imagined landscapes and distant horizons. Together, they build a visual dialogue between fantasy and craftsmanship. Each object becomes a fragment of a larger voyage. The collection feels both intimate and expansive. It stays rooted in tradition while opening space for imagination.

Dior Maison expands this creative journey through a collaboration with the historic Manufacture des Émaux de Longwy. The manufactory was established in 1798. This partnership adds two glazed earthenware trinket trays to the collection. The Longwy pieces reinterpret the same fantastical journey through a different ceramic tradition. They highlight the richness of French decorative arts. They also show the continuity of craftsmanship across centuries.
Each creation in the collection carries a poetic name. These names reflect its narrative spirit. Titles such as Survol au siècle des lumières and Escale du porte-bonheur mark moments of passage and discovery. They also add symbolic meaning. These names deepen the emotional impact of the objects. They turn each piece into a keepsake of imagined travel and cultural memory.

The Fantastique Voyage de Monsieur Dior goes beyond a tableware collection. It invites us to see the world in a new way. Dior Maison blends porcelain, illustration, and heritage craftsmanship. It builds a universe where everyday objects hold imagination. The collection shows that beauty does not belong only to special occasions or distant places. It also lives in daily rituals.
Through this reinterpretation of Jules Verne’s world, Dior Maison reinforces a simple idea. Travel exists as much in the mind as in movement. It grows from curiosity, wonder, and the courage to dream beyond the present. Dior continues to express its vision of the art of living. In this vision, imagination and craftsmanship meet to create something timeless.
