A suit can say a lot about the person wearing it. For Giorgio Armani, it is also an opportunity to create something that feels personal, from the cut and fabric to the smallest finishing details. The Giorgio Armani Made to Measure service brings this approach to menswear through a process that combines traditional tailoring with contemporary design.
Introduced in 2006, the service was created in response to clients looking for a more personal approach to dressing. Giorgio Armani envisioned a made-to-measure experience that could offer a unique fit, fabric, lining, buttons and details while remaining rooted in the brand’s approach to modern, comfortable tailoring.
Since then, Made to Measure has grown from a service available in selected stores into an offering found in almost every Giorgio Armani boutique, supported by specialised staff. Its clientele includes high-profile executives and celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Tom Cruise, Will Smith and George Clooney.
A Suit Shaped By The Individual

The Made to Measure experience places the client at the centre of the design process. During an appointment, clients can feel and select fabrics, choose linings and buttons, and decide on the silhouette that best suits them.
Details can be specified down to the type of lapel, pocket position, single or double-breasted fastening and trouser construction. The final garment also carries a personalised label, making each suit specific to its wearer. There are two main silhouette lines available. The Soho offers a contemporary and sophisticated approach, while the Wall Street takes a more classic and traditional direction. Both lines include daywear and eveningwear drawn from the Giorgio Armani ready-to-wear collections.
Trousers can also be adjusted for comfort, with options including pleated waistbands, reinforced pockets and button flies.
From Fine Fabrics To Hidden Details

Fabric is another important part of the experience. Alongside Prince of Wales, herringbone and houndstooth, the selection includes vicuña and fine wools with a thread count described as finer than cashmere.
The range also includes certified sustainable materials such as organic cotton and linen, Nativa wool with certified quality and traceability, and recycled cupro. Beyond what can be seen, the construction of each suit reflects Giorgio Armani’s focus on craftsmanship. Hand stitching appears on the lapels, while functional sleeve buttonholes add another traditional tailoring detail.
Inside the jacket, natural canvas made from horsehair and goat’s hair forms part of the structure. Stitched interfacings help maintain a light and fluid feel, while the use of natural materials allows the garments to recover their shape after travel or exposure to rain.
Made To Order Expands The Experience

Alongside Made to Measure, Giorgio Armani is introducing its Made-to-Order service for men in selected boutiques in Singapore and Malaysia.
The service allows clients to select seasonal pieces and personalise them through their choice of linings and buttons. For men, the selection includes daytime pieces such as trousers, vests, shirts and coats, as well as evening options including tuxedo jackets, lightweight shirts and trousers.
Materials include silk cady, wool crepe, cashmere and velvet. The result is a wardrobe that combines the structure of Giorgio Armani’s designs with a more personal approach to dressing.
