Designer Elie Saab Brings Haute Couture To The Skies With Bombardier

A bespoke and ultra-luxurious cabin for the Global 8000.

What happens when one of the world’s most celebrated couturiers turns his attention from the runway to a private jet cabin? Bombardier’s latest collaboration with Elie Saab offers an answer, transforming the Global 8000 into a sophisticated airborne sanctuary where fashion, design and aviation converge.

Luxury fashion has long expanded beyond the wardrobe. Today, the world’s leading maisons design everything from residences and hotels to furniture and yachts. Now, Elie Saab is adding another category to that growing universe, this time with private aviation.

The Lebanese designer has partnered with Bombardier to create a bespoke interior for the Global 8000, the Canadian manufacturer’s flagship business jet. Unveiled during the Monaco Grand Prix, the collaboration marks the first time Elie Saab’s design language has been translated into an aircraft cabin. The result is less a conventional jet interior and more a flying extension of the brand’s lifestyle aesthetic.

An Airborne Designer Expression

Known for dressing royalty, Hollywood stars and global tastemakers, Elie Saab has built a design language rooted in timeless elegance, meticulous craftsmanship and understated glamour. Those same principles inform the Global 8000 cabin.

Bathed in natural light, the interior is conceived as a serene retreat above the clouds. Soft architectural lines, rich materials and a carefully curated palette work together to create an atmosphere more akin to a luxury residence than a business aircraft.

At the heart of the design is a spacious lounge area intended to encourage relaxation, conversation and comfort throughout long-haul journeys. Every detail, from the material selection to the spatial flow of the cabin, reflects Saab’s approach to contemporary luxury living.

“We approached this collaboration with a haute couture mindset,” says Elie Saab Jr., CEO of ELIE SAAB. “This project reflects our desire to accompany our clients in their daily lives wherever they are, extending the ELIE SAAB universe into every moment of their journey.”

Where Engineering Meets Couture

While the finished cabin exudes effortless elegance, bringing the concept to life required extensive collaboration behind the scenes.

Unlike a residential interior or hotel suite, every element within an aircraft must comply with strict certification, safety and performance requirements. Bombardier’s engineering teams worked closely with Elie Saab’s designers to ensure the creative vision could be realised without compromising the technical demands of aviation.

The partnership offered a rare opportunity to rethink the aircraft cabin as a genuine living environment rather than simply a mode of transport.

“This collaboration pushes the boundaries of business aviation and reflects our relentless focus on elevating the customer experience,” says Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier.

A New Chapter For Luxury Travel

The Global 8000 already occupies a unique position within business aviation as the industry’s fastest business jet. Yet this latest collaboration places equal emphasis on what happens inside the cabin as on the aircraft’s performance credentials.

For Bombardier, the project represents a new dimension of customisation for clients seeking something beyond traditional aircraft interiors. For Elie Saab, it is a natural extension of a lifestyle brand that now spans fashion, interiors, hospitality and real estate.

Most importantly, it demonstrates how the boundaries between luxury sectors continue to blur. The same clients commissioning couture gowns, branded residences and bespoke yachts increasingly expect that level of design consideration everywhere they spend their time – including at 51,000 feet.

The Elie Saab-designed cabin is now available as an option for customers of the Bombardier Global 8000.
