OMEGA Celebrates the Planet Ocean At The Tate Modern With Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Ambassadors, actors and watch enthusiasts celebrate the luxury diving icon’s contemporary evolution in London.

OMEGA has continued the global celebrations for its newly redesigned Seamaster Planet Ocean collection with an exclusive event in London, hosted alongside brand ambassador Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Following the collection’s 2025 relaunch, the evening showcased the Swiss watchmaker’s latest interpretation of the iconic Planet Ocean — a timepiece that seamlessly blends technical performance with elevated lifestyle appeal.

Held within Tate Modern, the event reflected the avant-garde spirit behind the fourth-generation redesign. Guests arrived at the gallery’s atmospheric Tanks, a striking industrial space once used to store oil during the building’s former life as a power station. Reimagined by OMEGA as an immersive marine-inspired setting, the venue featured ambient lighting and cinematic projections inspired by the mystery and movement of the sea.

Among those attending the evening were French actor and OMEGA Friend of the Brand Pierre Niney, alongside British actors Connor Swindells, Tom Blyth, Jonah Hauer-King and Charlie Rowe.

A Modern Evolution of the Planet Ocean

Originally introduced as a professional diving watch, the Seamaster Planet Ocean has evolved into one of OMEGA’s most versatile luxury lifestyle collections. The 2025 redesign honours the Seamaster’s maritime heritage while embracing a more contemporary aesthetic, complete with the signature orange detailing that has defined the line since 2005.

Speaking during the event, OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann described London as the ideal backdrop for the unveiling.

He said: “The Planet Ocean began life as an underwater timepiece but has evolved into one of our most attractive lifestyle pieces. It’s quite symbolic to be celebrating this renewed collection in London — a city that has always been a starting point for exploration, style and innovation.”

Aaron Taylor-Johnson Fronts the New Generation

As the face of the Planet Ocean’s global campaign, Aaron Taylor-Johnson represents a new generation of Seamaster enthusiasts. The actor, whose family has long worn the collection, spoke of his personal connection to the brand and his admiration for the latest redesign.

“I’ve formed a very strong partnership with OMEGA, grounded in our shared passion for detail and quality,” he said. “To be representing their Planet Ocean collection feels like a real milestone.”

The fourth-generation Seamaster Planet Ocean collection is now available worldwide in seven variations, offered in blue, black and the collection’s signature orange, with options including rubber straps and stainless-steel bracelets.
