Dusit Thani Maldives Hosts Michelin-Starred Chef Christophe Chiavola For Culinary Residency

A celebration of French culinary artistry and Maldivian flavours.

Dusit Thani Maldives is set to welcome Michelin-starred Chef Christophe Chiavola for a one-of-a-kind culinary residency from 5 to 10 March 2026. Set in the resort’s oceanfront restaurant, Sea Grill, the residency promises a series of intimate dining experiences inspired by seasonality, precision, and the natural beauty of the Maldives.

Currently leading the Michelin-starred Le Prieuré Baumanière in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, France, Chef Christophe is celebrated for his meticulous technique, elegant plating, and instinctive use of seasonal ingredients. Over the course of the residency, guests will be invited into his culinary world through a sequence of thoughtfully curated events held at the resort located in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll.

An oceanfront masterclass will offer hands-on insight into Michelin-starred techniques and flavour composition, while a smaller-group workshop will spotlight fresh island produce through refined French methods.

A sunset cocktail and dinner evening will unfold as a multi-course experience inspired by both his French roots and the surrounding seascape. The residency culminates in a one-night-only Michelin Star Gala, where his signature dishes are reinterpreted using Maldivian ingredients and served beneath the open sky.

“His respect for nature, seasonality, and craftsmanship aligns seamlessly with our approach to culinary expression,” says Jean-Louis Ripoche, Area General Manager of Dusit Thani Maldives. “This residency allows guests to experience world-class cuisine in a setting that is immersive, intimate, and deeply connected to our island environment.”
