Guerlain has unveiled its first flagship Spa in Mainland China at The PuXuan Hotel and Spa, marking a significant expansion for the French luxury beauty house in the Chinese market. Located at No.1 Wangfujing Street, beside the Forbidden City, the new opening positions Guerlain at the intersection of heritage, art, and modern luxury.
Established in 1939 at 68 Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Guerlain pioneered the world’s first beauty institute. The Beijing flagship Spa extends this legacy, reinterpreting the House’s philosophy of beauty and wellness through a distinctly Chinese cultural lens.
French Expertise

Set within The PuXuan Hotel and Spa — part of Asia’s first integrated art exchange complex and home to the Guardian Art Center — the Spa is immersed in a setting where contemporary culture, architecture, and artistic practice converge. Designed by architect Ole Scheeren, the building’s basalt façade and circular glass elements draw inspiration from the 14th-century landscape painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, creating a visual dialogue between tradition and modernity.
Inside, Guerlain’s five treatment rooms unfold within an environment defined by handcrafted furnishings, contemporary ink artworks, and hutong-inspired architectural details. The atmosphere is intentionally restrained, allowing ritual, touch, and sensory experience to take center stage.
Signature Treatments

The Guerlain Spa menu at The PuXuan presents a curated selection of the House’s signature facial and body treatments, alongside an exclusive Beijing-only offering: the Orchid Youth Ritual. Designed specifically for this location, the ritual combines Guerlain’s advanced skincare techniques with calligraphy brush movements and heated lava stones, creating a deeply restorative experience that balances energy, texture, and flow.
Art remains central to the Spa experience. A sculptural installation by artist Paula Bastiaansen, rendered in luminous bone china, explores the fragility and movement of air, while Maison Duvelleroy introduces couture fans that merge craftsmanship, heritage, and subtle fragrance.

An adjoining retail space extends the experience beyond the treatment room. It offers amongst others, Guerlain’s iconic skincare collections — including Orchidée Impériale and Abeille Royale — alongside fragrances from the House’s Perfumery of Art and signature makeup creations.
Additionally, personalised offerings from the L’Art & La Matière fragrance collection and the limited-edition Exceptional Rendezvous Bee Bottles continue to reinforce Guerlain’s commitment to craftsmanship and customisation.
