First Impressions: The 2026 TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph

A new chapter for the brand’s iconic model…

TAG Heuer kicked off 2026 at its flagship boutique in TRX Exchange, inviting enthusiasts to experience an intimate journey through haute horlogerie, complemented by champagne, caviar tastings and its newest Carrera Chronograph.

The highlight of the event showcased the three new striking models from the collection — Silver Steel Black, Silver Steel Blue, and Silver Steel Green. A bold evolution of one of Swiss watchmaking’s most iconic collections, the models exemplify TAG Heuer’s mastery of precision, design, and motorsport heritage.

Motorsport Heritage

TAG Heuer unveiled the new 41mm Carrera Chronographs at LVMH Watch Week in Milan in mid-January. Each model carries a distinct personality while sharing a deep connection to the brand’s racing DNA.

Dynamic and daring, the collection channels motorsport heritage through bold dial designs — from a striking black dial with subtle red accents to captivating blue and contemporary green circular-brushed dials. These watches maintain the Carrera’s signature blend of precision, legibility, and sporting spirit, now presented with a slightly larger presence than the 39mm heritage models.

At TRX Exchange, we experienced the watches firsthand. Housed in 41mm cases that extend TAG Heuer’s celebrated glassbox design, the sculptural sapphire crystal curves seamlessly over the dial, catching light from every angle.

The clean, date-free face with monochromatic counters enhances both depth and readability. Each model is paired with TAG Heuer’s seven-row steel bracelet, combining comfort with visual sophistication.

A subtle yet meaningful detail — the Victory Wreath engraving on the right lug — reinforces the connection between wearer and the brand’s storied motorsport legacy.

Technical Innovation

Powering each Carrera Chronograph is the in-house Calibre TH20-01, offering an 80-hour power reserve, vertical clutch engagement, and column wheel precision. The transparent caseback reveals the movement’s intricate architecture, reflecting TAG Heuer’s commitment to technical mastery and aesthetic refinement.

Since its launch in 1963, the Carrera has been synonymous with motorsport heritage and chronograph innovation. Created under Jack Heuer for precision timing in motorsport, the original Carrera emphasised clarity, modernity, and legible dials — traits that continue to define the collection today.

The new 41mm Carrera Chronographs honour this lineage while embracing contemporary design, offering a modern interpretation of the Carrera spirit. Each watch balances timeless racing DNA with high-performance watchmaking, ensuring tradition and innovation coexist seamlessly on the wrist.

Zodiac Appeal

Alongside the Carrera Chronograph collection, TAG Heuer also introduced the Carrera Chronograph Year of the Horse, a 250-piece limited edition celebrating the Lunar New Year. The 39mm steel glassbox case houses a gradient dial in deep crimson and champagne gold, complemented by rose gold-plated hands and indexes, while the Chinese character for horse sits subtly at nine o’clock.

Powered by the Calibre TH20-07 with an 80-hour power reserve and paired with a beads-of-rice bracelet, the watch fuses Swiss chronograph craftsmanship with Eastern symbolism, offering collectors a rare and dynamic piece.

From its motorsport legacy to its technical innovations, TAG Heuer’s latest Carrera models demonstrate that tradition and innovation can coexist in perfect harmony. At this exclusive showcase, each timepiece captures the brand’s racing spirit while charting a bold course for contemporary haute horlogerie.
