Advance bookings are highly recommended.

Louis Vuitton Exhibitions

This summer, Louis Vuitton sets Osaka alight—not just with fashion, but visionary exhibitions. In a powerful double-bill of artistry and heritage, the Maison debuts Visionary Journeys at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, and Yayoi Kusama – Infinity at its Espace Louis Vuitton Osaka.

Both timed perfectly with the city’s growing role on the global stage ahead of Expo 2025. The result is nothing short of transcendent: an invitation to explore not just what Louis Vuitton creates, but what it dreams.

Visionary Journeys – A Celebration of the Art of Travel

Louis Vuitton Exhibitions

  • Venue: Nakanoshima Museum of Art
  • Dates: 15 July – 17 September 2025

More than a retrospective, Visionary Journeys is a living, breathing voyage into the Maison’s soul. Curated by Florence Müller with architectural staging by OMA’s Shohei Shigematsu, the exhibition unfolds like a travel diary across twelve evocative rooms—each chapter a reverent ode to craftsmanship, innovation, and the spirit of discovery.

At the heart of the journey stands a breathtaking installation: eight colossal Louis Vuitton trunks crafted from illuminated washi paper, glowing like lanterns guiding us through time. Nearby, a “trunk hemisphere” of 138 iconic pieces showcases everything from rugged zinc steamer trunks to fantastical creations tailored for globetrotters, artists, and aristocrats alike.

Rare archival pieces from Japan—including a travelling desk created for conductor Leopold Stokowski—interweave with contemporary collaborations from Takashi Murakami, Rei Kawakubo, NIGO®, and of course, Yayoi Kusama, underscoring the Maison’s long-standing creative symbiosis with Japan. Floating tatami platforms, shimmering monogram motifs, and tactile displays of leather, wood, and canvas remind us: travel may be the destination, but craftsmanship is the journey.

This is not just Louis Vuitton’s story—it is a testament to how imagination, design, and cultural dialogue move the world forward. Secure your tickets here.

  • Venue: Espace Louis Vuitton Osaka
  • Dates: 16 July 2025 – 12 January 2026

Across town, at the minimalist yet luminous Espace Louis Vuitton Osaka, the Maison offers a quieter, more contemplative escape into infinity. Presented as part of the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s acclaimed Hors-les-murs programme, this focused exhibition grants rare access to the world of Yayoi Kusama—Louis Vuitton’s most iconic and enduring artistic collaborator.

Here, her legendary Infinity Mirror Rooms unfold in their full, disorienting glory. Step inside and lose yourself in endless reflections of polka dots, pumpkins, and celestial forms—symbols of both obliteration and transcendence in Kusama’s lifelong philosophy. Each mirrored surface invites you not just to look, but to vanish—a metaphysical act that feels all the more profound in the context of Louis Vuitton’s ethos of perpetual reinvention.

The works on display chart Kusama’s journey from a young girl haunted by hallucinations to a global art star whose message of repetition, identity, and radical softness continues to resonate. If Visionary Journeys tells the story of physical movement, Infinity captures a journey inward.

Two Visions, One Dialogue

More than a nod to Japanese heritage, the two Louis Vuitton exhibitions feel like love letters to a country that has shaped—and been shaped by—the Maison’s creative language for over a century. From Japonisme influences in 19th-century Paris to today’s bold collaborations, Louis Vuitton’s relationship with Japan is stitched not only in fabric, but in spirit.
