Designed for whisky connoisseurs and curious novices alike, in conjunction with the hotel’s fifth anniversary, the Astor Bar merges two legacy brands to deliver an exquisite, curated drinking experience that brings rich stories and heritage to life.

The glamourous launch event, which took place last month, saw whisky lovers and celebrity attendees, including social media influencer Venice Min, model and visual artist Sheena Liam, actress Jojo Goh, entrepreneur Aaron Chin and his wife, January So. Upon arrival, they were treated to ‘The Macallan Cinematic Experience’ where two expressions for tasting were served, before being ushered into the ‘The Macallan Timeline Tunnel’, alongside an experience to scent the oak cask – essential in maintaining the quality and flavour in whiskies.

Other activities you can expect include ‘The Macallan’s Serving Ritual’ where every order placed is complemented by The Macallan Bar Cart and the iconic Ice Ball Maker. Meanwhile, ‘The Macallan Flight Experience’ is an intimate and immersive guided experience where guests get to savour various vintages whilst discovering their tasting notes – perfect for whisky novices. For those seeking variety, the option to indulge in a The Macallan cocktail, concocted specifically by Astor Bar’s mixologist, is available.

Enhancing the whisky experience is a display of rare bottles from The Macallan’s archives, featuring The Red Collection, the only complete and unrivalled set in Malaysia owned by The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur. It is one of the world’s oldest and rarest whisky collections, featuring some of the oldest ongoing expressions ever offered by The Macallan aged expressions.
