BMW’s latest, limited edition SUV is going dark – well, except for the 500 units destined for potential buyers worldwide. The all-black BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition will be produced at the BMW Plant Spartanburg in the United States, and is limited to 500 models globally.
It combines a striking design with generous interior comfort, highlighting the sporty look and the luxury ambience of BMW’s largest SUV. What’s most striking is the BMW Individual Frozen Arctic Grey metallic paint finish, which is available on a BMW X model for the first time.
To complement the look, the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line finishes the kidney grille, Air Breathers and tailpipe in glossy black. This creates a subtle contrast to the matt shimmering surfaces. In addition, it comes with 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design, finished in a Jet Black matte tone.
In terms of power, the new X7 limited edition is based on the range-topping M50i variant. Its 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine is capable of pushing out 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.
The interior ensconces passengers in luxury, with full Merino leather in Night Blue/Black with contrasting seams, Night Blue Alcantara headlining and Night Blue leather instrument panel. Black Merino leather is used in the lower section of the instrument panel and on the front backrests.
This is the first “Edition” model of BMW’s V8 SUV, and its character is emphasised by the aerodynamically optimised bodywork elements of the M sports package, which forms part of the standard equipment.
Other features include sun protection glazing, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround sound system, heat comfort pack and panoramic glass roof Skylounge. Head up display, TV function plus, rear seat entertainment professional and massage functionality for the front seats are also included as standard.
