Celebrating the recent release of Paddington 2, luxury hotel and leisure operator Belmond has introduced an adventurous travel package to the homeland of Michael Ball’s famous bear, Peru. The seven-night package begins in Lima, where Paddington’s Aunt Lucy lives, at the city’s most stylish address, Belmond Miraflores Park, overlooking the seafront and bustling promenade. From the capital, guests travel to Cusco and the Belmond Hotel Monasterio with its stunning courtyard, cloisters and flower-lined walkways. Next up is a journey to Machu Picchu aboard the Belmond Hiram Bingham, the country’s most famous 1920s-inspired vintage train. There, guests spend a night at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge (pictured), the only hotel to be situated at the gates of the ancient citadel and overlooking the breathtaking sacred peaks. The adventure ends at the heart of the Sacred Valley and the Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado, located on the shores of the Urubamba River, where a special Paddington-themed ‘movies under the stars’ night offers family fun by the wild-running river, with cosy woollen blankets, popcorn waiter service and dessert bar inspired by the film.
