ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL GMT-MASTER II OYSTERSTEEL
The indisputable star of the entire fair is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II Oystersteel. It’s the watch that all Rolex fans have been earnestly waiting for since 2014, when the prodigious watchmaker re-issued the GMT-Master II with the iconic Pepsi bezel in white gold. While the new GMT-Master II shares similar hallmarks with its predecessor – with the same 24-hour indicated two-toned Cerachrom insert in red and blue ceramic on the bi-directional bezel, and black lacquer dial with luminous dot indices – there are a few significant modifications that will thrill ardent admirers of the luxury watchmaker. First, the GMT-Master II is presented in corrosion-resistant 904L stainless steel – also known as Oystersteel – which positions the watch at a highly attractive price to collectors. Then, we have the five-link Jubilee bracelet paired on a GMTMaster II for the first time, a departure from its practically exclusive presence on the Datejust models. Finally, the new Calibre 3285 mechanical movement, containing the new Chronergy escapement that allows for significant gains in precision, resistance to shocks, anti-magnetism and power reserve of up to a monumental 70 hours. As a matter of fact, Rolex has filed 10 patents on the development of this impressive new movement. Like all Rolex watches, the GMT-Master II Oystersteel proudly carries the Superlative Chronometer certification that guarantees precision of +2/-2 seconds per day.
